Cowman Gardener

1918-1919

"This man worked as a Cowman Gardener on at farm at Tai Tapu. He milked cows and kept the gardens and the family had a farm cottage to live in. His wife worked as a cook. The small boy was fortunate to live amongst animals and always had a connection with them. His father caught the flu (Influenza Epidemic was world wide and many people died). His father's hair turned grey prematurely through the flu and the couple had no more children." - Contributor's note
